Ice Cream and Summer

Saturday was the September meeting of a quilting group I belong to run by my friend Jan. We had a great day as usual, plenty of chat and perhaps not enough sewing but that's why it's always such a great day. We also had a new member. A young man called Nigel who was an absolute delight. Very talented, organised and his stitches were to die for. A breath of fresh air and also what I call a "what if" quilter. That is, looking at a pattern, block or whatever and thinking, 'mmm what if I did this or that' And talk about organised. Sooo tidy, puts me to shame.

Also Jan makes the most beautiful pictorial postcards and she has recently made some Ice Cream Cones. I happened to mention I like my cones with strawberry and chooalte etc with sprinkles and an umbrella. Much to my surprise (and delight) she presented me with just such a card on Saturday. Don't you think it's great? Thank you Jan.

Today is the first day of Autumn (what happened to summer we are all asking over here). Anyway just to remind myself of what summer we have had I have been trawling through my photographs and found this one of a friends garden in Germany, taken this summer. Perhaps we'll have a better summer next year. Ever the optimist. I might put some more pictures to remind myself of summer later on.

Glad you liked it Di. My pleasure. He is great isn't he.
Love that picture, where is it? If you say its your garden I'm coming up to 'nick' that plant.

Unfortunately it's not my garden Jan. It is Anya and Uwe's in Germany.
