As I mentioned in my last post my son and his partner went to China and Hong Kong recently. When asked if there was anything I would like them to bring back (what a silly question!) I said fabric please particularly silk. I did say just scraps or samples would be ideal. Well, I am now the proud owner of 4 metres of absolutely stunning silk and at least six metres of the traditional indigo and white. What am I going to do with all this fabric? I'm certainly not going to rush into anything as it is too precious. Haven't aken any photographs of the fabric but they did take some of the Water Village where they bought the indigo. This is a picture of the fabric after dyeing and hanging out to dry. This certainly suggests some sort of quilt - loing strips with bamboo poles perhaps. Plenty of time to sort out some ideas and draw some sketches. Haven't photographed the silk yet but will do soon.
Am a bit behind in the TAST Challenge. Have done the Buttonhole stitch and am now trying the
Detached Chain stitch. Hopefully will soon be able to catch up. Couple of committments to finish and then all will be well. Will try and post some photos this week.
Bye for now.
