Productive

I have had a very productive few evenings in the last week. I finally decided it was time I finished some of the many UFOs I have stashed in my sewing room.

Well, about 3 (yes 3 years) ago, a friend from Australia and I decided to to make on of Bonnie Hunters quilts. The one we eventually hit on was Boxy Stars. We swapped fabrics (between Australia and UK!!!) and set to. Needless to say my friend Sharyn finished hers in no time at all. I had cut all the 2 1/2 in strips, printed off the instructions and promptly made two blocks!! They were then put in a box and stored. There they stayed until a week or two ago. Anyway after having a few chilly nights here in the UK and because fuel prices have soared in the last few months, I decided I was going to make the family some lap quilts. Out came Boxy Stars and it is now pieced with the borders on and all I need to do is sandwich it and quilt. It measurea about 40" x 52".

Whilst looking through the UFOs I cam across a virtually finished double bed sized quilt. The pattern is 54 40 or Fight. Just needed another row added. That row will be done this afternoon. Border will be put on and then I will have to ask my friend Jan's daughter A, very nicely, if she will sandwich it. My days of crawling around on the floor pinning quilts are over. Osteo arthritis has put paid to that!!

I mentioned the Boxy Stars was about 3 years old, well this quilt top must be at least 8 or or 10 (yes that's right 8/10 )) years old. All hand pieced. I will take some pics later today and then search out some more UFOs while I'm on a roll.

I've been very remiss in not posting pictures of a lovely ATC from Kate and a beautiful postcard from Ilse, which I received recently. Thank you ladies, they are beautiful.
