Quiltie Swap 2

I belong to a Craft Forum and have been taking part in another Quiltie swap. This time my swap partner was Bec (who I swapped with quite some time ago when I took part in a lot of general swaps). I received this lovely Quiltie tonight. It is so pretty with cut-away work ( a rose pattern) revealing a lovely floral fabric underneath on one side and pretty hand embroidered butterflies on the reverse side. A really delicate and pretty quiltie. Thank you Bec. I can't show you the quiltie I sent her as she hasn't received it yet. You can never tell with post to Australia - sometimes it only takes 4 or 5 days, other times longer. As soon as I know she has received it I will post a piccie.

As you might have guessed from last night's post I am a Wimbledon fan and am glued to it most nights until at least 8 o'clock. However, I don't like just sitting watching TV so I have gone back to my first love which is hand piecing. Ok I know Jan, I've got a super duper machine upstairs and it would be a lot quicker........... but you can't use a machine and watch TV at the same time!! Also it is extremely relaxing. One of the projects set at the Quilt Set (a group run by my friend Jan) was a small teacup hanging. Absoloutely ideal for this week. I've managed to make seven so only five to go. I am going to misty fuse the handles on and just satin stitch around the handle. All fabric is from my stash. Cups are made from some Jinny Beyer fabric I got off Ebay about 2 or 3 years ago and background is just some neutral bits from the stash. Hope to make the rest by Saturday.

Hi Di, love the Jinny Beyer cups and saucers, glad you had some hand sewing to do for the Wimbledon fortnight, thats why Ive not rung you, I knew you would be 'glued' to telly.
Love that little Quiltie, a double whammy too, back and front. Smart.
