Phew, that was a long day. Got back last night from visiting son and family in Germany. Left there at 7.30am (6.30am UK time) and arrived back here at about 7pm. Super journey down from Germany to France to catch the ferry but once we got to Dover and our lovely UK motorways, well DHs comments are unrepeatable!!
Managed to do a little stitching while away but we travelled around a lot. In fact DH looked at the mileometer when we got home and we had done 1,500 miles since last Sunday!!!!! Visited Bremen (beautiful city and well worth visiting). Also travelled to Kiel, very north of Germany and not that far from Denmark. Stayed with some delightful friends of DIL, Uwe and Anya and their two German Shepherd dogs called Berta and Basik!! Made us so welcome and had a fantastic BBQ both nights we were there. Also the wine and German beer flowed extremely freely. Wonderful. Thought we might have had a problem with the language as Uwe only speaks German and Anya German and Russian so we had three way translations going on but I was amazed at how much German DH and I remembered. We will be going back to visit them, hopefully before the end of the year. Took loads of pictures so will post some of them here later. Now I've got to empty suitcases and get washing and ironing sorted before back to work tomorrow!!!!
